No. A coating adds a hard, slick layer that resists UV and chemicals and makes the car much easier to wash, but it won't stop rock chips, door dings or deep scratches. How you wash the car still matters.
Hand wash it with a pH-neutral car soap and a clean wash mitt, rinse well and dry with a soft microfiber towel. Skip automatic washes with brushes. Jacob goes over the aftercare with you before he leaves.
